Fermat’s Last Theorem for the Mathematical Amateur

What a novel idea. For the last year Larry Freeman has been gradually reconstructing Andrew Wiles’ proof of Fermat’s Last Theorem in a way that is (at least supposedly) accesesible to mathematical amateurs like himself. Each day, he moves a step closer to the final proof, illustrating the important concepts along the way and highlighting the personalities of the mathematicians involved.
