Galton’s Anthropometric Instruments

How does a 19th century Englishman measure humans scientifically? With a special collection of anthropometric devices, collected by the University College London’s Francis Galton Collection. There are whistles to test hearing range, hand dynamometer for measuring grip strength, craniometers for measuring head span, as well as glass eyes and hair samples for precisely documenting shades of color.
