George Widener’s Magic Time Squares

Autistic Savant and outsider artist George Widener is fascinated by dates. Since 1998, he has been creating what he calls Magic Time Squares, diagrams that combine calendar dates with magic squares as a way of coming to terms with his historical obsessions. Above is his portrait of Queen Victoria, drawn on the back of a napkin. Likes Giles Trehin, creator of Urville, Widener also creates large panoramic cityscapes from his mind’s eye:
