The Webs Spiders Weave

Arachnologist Samuel Zschokke records the paths spiders take as they weave their webs and then color codes the images to convey information about the different phases of the construction process. His web site also includes terrific videos of webs being spun (including this very neat animation of an Araneus diadematus orb web) and a short essay on the methodology of web construction.
On the subject of spiders, we’re sorry to have missed the IFF’s recently sponsored talk titled “What is it Like to be a Spider” by Dr. Simon Pollard.
