Finch and Co.: Objects for a Wunderkammer

Finch and Co. is a British dealer of antiques and curiosities, whose mission is “to create the greatest of 21st Century cabinets of curiosities at the antique shows they participate in.” Shown above: A framed 19th-century flamingo specimen. Below, clockwise from top-left: A preserved specimen of a flying fish, 19th-century bookends fashioned from the teeth of a sperm whale, a 19th-century model of a three-masted schooner made entirely from dried cloves, and our favorite, a table made from the ear of an elephant by the taxidermist Roland Ward.

    That’s not a flying fish…actually a species commonly known as a sea robin.
